I am a clinical psychologist and transactional analyst. Since 1965 I have studied, written, taught and lectured on the emotions and emotional literacy–as opposed to emotional intelligence–as they relate to love cooperation and the common good — and how these factors affect our personal power.
I have developed a program for emotional literacy training (click here) using transactional analysis (click here) principles and methods.
Starting in the Spring of 2013 I have had a number of medical problems (prostate surgery, Parkinson’s Disease onset, hernia surgery, emergency hospitalizations, oncology radiation treatments…) and procedures which have severely restricted my ability to travel. I can still drive, walk to the corner store, exercise at the health club, attend meetings, cook for myself, etc. and could with much help attend a meeting or conference, if invited.
On January 6 2015 I had my 80th birthday and have resolved to substantially reduce my activities and responsibilities to match my reduced energy and capabilities and devote my energies to updating my books for translation. Right now I am readying Emotional Literacy; Intelligence with a Heart for German publication.
I have the muscular and emotional support of my wife Jude, my children Noemi, Eric and Denali, Mathew my grandson and many friends so I am well taken care of. I may not live to a hundred but I have a few good years to go. I invite you to check in on this page and keep up with the latest goings on, if the vicissitudes of my aging and dying process hold some interest for you. You can always email me at csteiner@igc.org.
Since November 2016, my website is mainly being managed and curated by Agustín Devós.
